I reduced the data entry time needed to input our standard order being sent to all new retail store customers.

The process of inputting an order for this standard package was tedious. Data entry staff needed to select a product, choose 6 of these, 6 of those, 6 of the other, add this and that, shipping, tax, etc.

The software we were using, SBT accounting software, was written in Foxbase Pro, a database package that could be customized. I saw that a significant time savings was possible so I dug in and learned what was needed. I designed and implemented a custom option to allow one to select a standard package to speed up the data entry process.

Before I finished the customization it had taken more than six minutes to input each order. After I added the ability to automatically input the standard order, the data entry took less than three minutes to enter each order, making the process more than double as fast.
