Managed Direct Marketing Campaigns



As Direct Marketing Manager at North Star Records, I implemented postcard mailing campaigns, renting mailing lists and creating coded labels to track response to individual campaigns. I designed spreadsheets to systematically compare the results of the various postcard mailings.

Selling retail earns double the profit margin compared with selling via a wholesale distributor, however almost all our sales were via distributor. Because I was able to document the profitability of these campaigns there was a decision to expand the budget for renting mailing lists. The result was a significant increase in direct sales.

Based on the spreadsheets I created, I was able to carefully recommend particular lists with better response rates, and to track results to build and refine successful campaigns.
